For now, I've had to take a step back from the EGFF project. However all the contact details of our whole team are below! Please do contact them if you are interested in getting in touch with the EGFF team. We'd love to hear from you!

Our ethos

We are a member of Creative Carbon Scotland’s Green Arts Initiative programme, a network of organisations that work towards increasing the environmental sustainability of the Scottish arts community.  We participate through the use of their tools and resources, and by communicating our data for annual feedback reports.

As part of the Scottish creative and arts industry, we have an opportunity to inform and inspire our audiences and with our festival aiming to encourage discussion of environmental issues, we know it's important to uphold a strong green policy that translates to environmentally-conscious decision making. Our goal is to ultimately run at a carbon deficit.

Our full environmental policy can be found here, as well as our COVID19 policy, which can be found here. All of our past, present, and future policies will always be available on our website. We will always share our commitments to the environment, the Edinburgh community, and the film festival sector with everyone.

EGFF concluded on the 31st of October 2021, and we wanted to send a massive thank you to everyone that watched and engaged with the films we programmed. We are really grateful that so many of you found meaning in the critical climate filmmaking we could platform. ⁣

Thank you all for coming along to our live panel event also. We were so happy to hold such a lively and in-depth discussion about climate justice and COP26.⁣
A huge thank you to the amazing team that pulled this project together. And also a massive thank you to all the extra support along the way from Leoni Graphics, Scott Blair from The Unbound Screen, Matchbox Cineclub for their captioning work, and INDY On Demand for their platform. ⁣

We will be making our talks with directors, and live panel event available for access really soon, so if you missed any of these, you will be able to catch up shortly!⁣

We were able to offset 3.14 Tons of Carbon thanks to the Treedom© platform. All trees are planted directly by local farmers and bring environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities. ⁣

Onwards to COP26, and to continue to advocate for climate justice at every opportunity.
